This article link has to do with Canadian troops in Afghanistan. John Hatley’s situation in question was in Baghdad, Iraq. I think this article brings to light some very important and similiar points. I will continue to watch and see how this situation affects the Canadian troops, however I wish for them a good outcome and that they are not prosecuted.

EXCERPT BELOW:
“A shooter who was providing support to the operation identified the individual and assessed that he was a threat, and shot the individual,” he wrote.
“The actions of the shooter were an appropriate application of the rules of engagement and saved the lives of a number of Canadian Forces members that night.”
Natynczyk said the suspect was armed and not a detainee.
I am seriously appalled with ANY charges being leveled against our Troops. It doesn’t make any sense for Troops to go over there and DO that which our TROOPS are trained to do…
If WE don’t FULLY SUPPORT OUR TROOPS and their decisions or split-second decisions and RALLY-UP IN SUPPORT OF ALL OUR TROOPS…our Troops will hes…itate to shoot in deadly threats–out of fear of Court Martial’s and prison!!!!!!!!
WE NEED TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS… DO NOT PUT OUR TROOPS IN HARM’S WAY, THEN PUNISH THEM FOR DOING THAT WHICH THEY WERE SENT TO DO… ELIMINATE THREATS TO OUR SAFETY–>WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, THEIR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THEIR COMRADES!!!!!!!
