As the mother of a son who is serving in the U.S. Army, and completed two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, I feel that they are doing their best given the circumstances and these men were convicted wrongly. I believe your incarceration is a national disgrace and you should be exonerated. I cannot believe they convicted you of such a crime for doing your job! My prayers and thoughts are with you. The United States Of America, us, we the people, actually brought the captain of the sub that sank her to court to testify against the Captain of the Indy for her being sunk. There was a whole lot of ass covering going on there as well. What the hell are we doing, again, to the men and women who defend us ? To prevent them from orchestrating killing anyone else and/or "taking them out of the equation". Nobody is charged/prosecuted/persecuted for this. Yet, Hatley and his comrades allegedly did EXACTLY that...prevented insurgents/orchestrators of terror/suspected terrorists from possibly killing again or being part of such killing in future. The question: "What "crime" did they then commit different from those using drones?". Should they have firstly phoned the President to obtain permission? Shouldn't they have received the exact same treatment/immunity as the drone operators? I still remember you taking pride in knowing tanks and how they operate so when we went into our promotion boards you can school us on our tanks lol.. I served with john in OIF 2 and OIF 06-08 and never met a finer NCO i remember talking to him in the chow hall on FOB falcon right before my SSG promotion board saying i hop you guys know alot about bikes!! he had just mentioned kim getting him a fatboy!! you will pull through this john!!! you are truly missed top!
