Somewhere is there a summary of the charges and proof of it? Is there sworn testimony?

I’m sure you have attacked it already, but was there any judicial review? What, if any, comments were made or added by the C.O.?

When did the acts John is accused of happen and when and were was the trial?

I’m a late arrival to these events, but am interested in helping, if possible.

How can we allow a man with such a great record to be railroaded into prison? What are the names of the Jury members and/or Judge? We should bombard them with mail and ask for an accounting of their decision. Who was the JAG officer that prosecuted this case?

Kim,

I am sorry for what is happening to John, You and your family. I want the war to be won, and the way you do that is break things and kill people. Unfortunately, the US Policy has been from the start to “Break things, but try not to kill anyone”. Early in the war, the planes and helicopters would allow crews to escape from tanks and other equipment, then destroy the equipment. That just allows the fighter to come back and fight with an IED, RPG or AK, another day. The Catch and Release policy is the same. To win a War, you must kill so many of the enemy, that they want to stop. That is how you win wars. Also there are not as many “Inocent Civilians” as were are being told about. In the US Military, we have Cooks, Doctors, Nurses, Supply Clercks..all are in the military and in uniform. Down Range the wives and childeren do these jobs, therefore they are “Enemy Combatants” and you must kill them all.

I´m a SGM DSO/SF for Nato and have now 25 TIS.
There are some questions we have to think of:
For what have we been trained? What is our mission? and who gives us our orders? We or they should think about this. I´ve been in many delicate missions. If somebody asks, we´ve never been there. We lost also soldiers, brothers and who cares? I agree, like others said, have those who judge them ever been in war/mission or have they served their country? NEVER! I´m not just fighting for my country, I fight with NATO and all his partners.
John became one of my best friends and he is an experienced and best NCO´s I know. I´m very thankful to know John and have him as a true friend and no matter what I would fight on his side.

My heart goes out to all 3 men and their families. I will join your FB so I can keep up with things, and I will repost. My son is a Marine and I myself know how much service men and women give up to serve their country, and they do it willingly. Let us support them.

I have known Kim and John for several years. I served with the 18th Infantry in Vietnam and have visited the unit in Germany several times to support the troops during this current war. John is a fine man, soldier and husband/father. I respect his judgment as a leader under the stress of combat. What ever occurred during that operation needs to be fully investigated. I have experienced war and am familiar with the choices soldiers must make to safe-guard the lives of their troops. My prayers and moral support are with all of these men and theirs families. May justice be done.

we all must stand up and fight for hero, john e. hatley – he stood up and fought for us for almost 20 years – now is our tiime to fight to have him released!!!!!!!
