Dearest Ann and Daryl,
I haven’t met you, but feel that you are “family” through out relationship with our mutual hero, John. I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through with all that has happened and how he has been unjustly icarcerated. I visit him about every two weeks and make sure that he gets his fill of M & M Peanuts and Dr. Pepper. In your absence, Rehnee and I will be the surrogate parents. A very strange thing happens when we got to see him; it is our intention to boost his spirits and keep him company. BUT, by being in his presence (and he has a definite presence, as you know) WE are the ones who are lifted in spirit and feel renewed…….there may be a word for this phenomenon, but I don’t know what it is.
We met John on a trip to Germany back in 2005. He and I hit it off right away…..we had a lot in common with out association in the Vanguards, actual combat experience and love of country.
Regardless of what the future holds for John (and us,) we will always stand behind him and support YOU, our family, in any possible way.
